Okay so i had a auto body mechanic (not my decision) hook up an autometer c2 air to fuel gauge and a boost gauge to my car. He also hooked up my cigerette lighter. When i gave this man my car it ran good. So i finally get the car back after 3 weeks of waiting for his lazy ass, and on the way home the car stalls and is running like crap, luckly i get it started and it drives far enough to get to my house. I turn it off and a half hour later i go to restart it. Now the car's battery is dead. The power locks, lights dont work and i turned on the headlights and they dont turn off. Also when im in the car and when i tap my brakes the lights in the cluster dim even more. Have any of you guys had issues like this, or know what it could be im getting frustrated its been 4 weeks and i havent got to drive my car for more than 2 weeks since i got it. :dsm:

P.S. My idle is also running higher than it used too

First thing i would do is ask the mech the the hell he did to your car! If you did not give it to him like that he should fix it. Also look to see how he has it hooked up. See if you see anything "funny"

I just had this happen to me last night. I was at a concert in Dallas (I live in Louisiana) and when i come out my car doesn't start. So i get my handy jumper cables in the trunk (always carry a pair) get it connected and done car starts, reading volts at 13.5. Disconnect the cables and there goes the volts, back down till the car dies. Did this about 5 times (at 12:00pm) and finally went to wal-mart to get a battery to drive it back to Louisiana, figured it might hold. About 5 miles down the highway it went from 11.9 amps to 11.5 and was slowly but surely dropping. I pulled over in a parking lot and slept in my car so i could take it to a mechanic the next morning (this was about 2pm). Next morning i get up mechanic says sounds like ecu and I was like, "ok thanks" :tease: and left, I'm not falling for that. I get to another parking lot and as I'm looking everything over I pull my fuse panel cover off and sure enough 80 amp fuse is blown to hell. So i went to Mitsubishi and tried to get one and they told me it would take them 3 days, take in mind I'm 180 miles away from home with no money for a hotel, So i drive right down the street and autozone has two so I bought them both and sure enough everything is working again. The power door locks didn't work, the windows didn't work without starting the car, the interior lights didn't work, and my anti-lock brakes came on everytime I touched the brakes. I sure wish i would have found this site before I left this weekend. My buddy with a 2006 STi (slower than mine laugh) was helping me and actually stayed in his car to make sure everything was ok, what an awesome friend. :D

Had a similar problem. I was taking my girlfriend home and the radio went out. I found it strange, turned it back on, and everything seemed fine. I head down the road a little ways and it goes out again as the lights get dimmer. My first thought was the alternator, so I get her home and bust ass to my buddies house and crash for the night. Next morning we go to diagnose the problem, and everything runs fine. Go to Autozone and alt. is pushing 14.6v. The battery light stayed on, but it all seems fine. We ride around town for a while, and it all seems okay.

One week later taking my girlfriend back to her house again, the radio goes out. I cut the lights and get the windows rolled up. I bust ass back to my buddies again to get the same thing in the morning. I go home and decide not to let this happen again. I checked connections and cleaned them as well as my grounds. Battery light goes off, problem solved.
