Please help me understand this!

I just got the recall done on the ball joints. They mentioned that the other (not the recalled) lower control arm is bad. He said there are two lower control arms. The one that is recalled is the lower lateral control arm. The other, which is the one he said is also bad, is the called the lower compression control arm. First, tell me if this is right. Second, I didn't have him replace the compression control arm because they wanted like $450 to do it! I can't seem to find anything called this when I try to locate the part myself. Also, I had the drivers side lower lateral control arm replaced last year before I knew it was a recalled. Do you think I could get reiumbursed for this?

Also, could someone please explain to me how many control arms are on my car ... Am I right in thinking that there are 4 control arms on each side? 2 Upper and 2 lower? And if I am, how do they differentiate between the 2 upper and lower (what name do they give them). Lastly, what control arm is replaced in the recall?

So let me sum up my questions :

1. How many control arms are on each side of the front?

3. What control arm is replaced during the recall?
4. Could I get reimbursed for replacing a part that was recalled?
5. What should I expect to pay to get the lower control arm (that isn't recalled) replaced?
