Im looking for expert advice and experience if anyone has any with a 2g with my mods

upper IC pipe and bov to throttle body pipe
DeJontool intake with K&N fipk filter
Manual boost riser.

3" highflow cat back and punishment racing downpipe on the way.

My question is I don't want to run an SAFC or change injectors I want a turbo that will bolt DIRECTLY on no installation kit required to install it and will work to the fullest with my current mods. If anyone can educate me on what I would be looking for please fill me in.

No injectors or afc pretty much limits you to stock or a t-28 for fully bolt-on. Even the t-28 will want larger injectors to maximize it.

Might as well stay stock.

I would not go with the 17 psi actuator as he did not want to go with larger injectors either. Really, the 17 psi actuator should not be needed for anyone on here. A boost controller will work perfectly well.

Is that it? I don't see the T infront of the 28 which leads me to beleive its not but Im not sure.

Will I be able to run this turbo with no fueling mods other then rewire the stock Fuel pump? Like I said I don't want an safc or anything to do with fuel tuning. Its my winter car I just want it to have a little more get up and go.

Thanks for the info guys one question first on setting the boot on a stock turbo.

So do I set it to spike to 16 PSI or do I set it to hold 16 PSI WOT for the first part of a gear? I know it falls off when you start to rev. Also you guys don't have to worry as I do with the auto when the TQ locks I can hit 20 PSI rollin on the throttle at 60 MPH easily.

A properly setup system should have little to no spike. For example, mine goes immediately to 16 and sits right there throughout the gear, regardless of which gear or how fast I hit the throttle, as long as I go wot.

That's right. If you wan't a direct bolt-on, FP T28 is the way to go. I like mine.

without safc it will be way better to run a 14b with fuel pump and fpr and u can run it at 20 psi with ur stock 1g bov crushed... (Assuming u have the mods u said like exhaust and bov

I think you will get more power out of the 14b than the t-28, and a 14b will be ALOT cheaper (and should be a bolt on also)

I used my Big28 with no fuel mods for quite some time before I decided to do injectors/pump/etc.. If you're want a nice upgrade but arnt looking to go crazy, it's a good choice. You can do what I did and use it while you get yourself prepped for something even bigger :thumb:

I figured out my boost sorta Im not sure how much different a manual car is then an auto for example the more I step into the throttle the more my car loads the motor. So my boost climbs to a point then falls my boost spikes to 20 PSI off the line then falls to 16 PSI and holds for till about 5000 RPM then falls to about 12 before the shift.

Now maybe I have my MBC hooked up wrong or something?

I have one line coming from the compressor on my turbo to the bottom of the controller then another line from the side of the controller to the waste gate thats it right? Im just sorta of "T"ing in with a spring and ball making it harder to open the wastegate right? The more I tighten the screw the more pressure on the sping the longer the waste takes to open right? Or do I have this hooked up wrong? Im not connected to the BCS at all its just there plugged in but no hoses on it. Does this even sound right?

sounds correct.

How long are your vac lines for the controller?

The longer they are, they more spike you will get.

The reason it happens is, the air must travel the length of line to the boost controller, pressurize it, overcome the BC spring, then travel the new hose and pressurize it, then overcome the wastegate spring. All this time adds up.

Short hoses keep the fill and pressurize time to a minimum.

Mine are about 4 inches from turbo nipple to BC, then about 8 inches to the wastegate.
