This is my 96 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST (AUTO) - Listen to the misfire or whatever its doing, I dont know what it is!! - Well long story short, I ran out of gas. Went to the gas station on 177ave and 8st (by the way they have the cheapest gas in Miami) and put the premium gas they had(93) and my car has been doing this ever since that night. i changed out the fuel pump (Walbro 255lph) and put a B&M regulator thinking it was fuel cut but its not:ohdamn:. I have full apex n1 exhaust, injen intake, and cranked up the boost. Please help me with this problem:pray:. its been ongoing. I cant pass 16 lbs without the car doing this problem everything before that is fine. Half throttle the car accelerates perfectly fine, after 16 lbs or around 15 it starts:confused:

I will say that you cannot post about highway racing let alone say you were running from a cop. That's a big nono:nono::nono:. The B&M, is that an adjustable FPR? The fuel cut will happen because
1. You don't have upgraded injectors.
2. You don't have any tuning tool to tell the ECU different airflow number to prevent fuel cut.
3. You raised the PSI too far without 1 & 2

You ran to complete empty and it's possible you picked up sediment from the bottom of the tank. Did you replace the fuel filter incase you started to clog it?

On the T-25 you shouldn't be going more than 15 psi after that you are blowing hot air and destroying the turbo. It's possible you are knocking and pulling a lot of timing. Turn the boost down and change the fuel filter if it hasn't been.
Lastly, racing is only on the track...right?

of course, we have a local 1/8 mile. The running wasnt because i was street racing. I dont do that, thats why i said long story short. Too much to explain. But yea, Injectors are stock, boost was turned up by eliminating that plastic piece in the solenoid. and the ecu program is way outta my pocket right now so i know about that, but the thing that worries me is I was running perfect before and after the gas thing is when this started happening. the car was running perfectly fine on 16 psi. when i put the exhaust is when the car went up to 16. Its not controlled, t25 turbo

There's a very slight possibilty it may have been a bad batch of gas. Kinda far fetched, but it is in the haynes manuals :D

Agreed and agreed, but...

Doesn't anybody see the fun in breaking the rules anymore?

Haha, I agree and do speed on the highway, but you just can't post about street racing. It's very unsafe and reckless.

OP, get a boost controller and turn the boost down for now and change the fuel filter.

That's all I can think of from running out of gas. There was another thread on here a bit ago of someone running out of gas and then the car ran like crap as well. Changed the filter and it helped out IIRC.

Agreed again. I've called the cops and reported plate numbers on people trying to do rolling starts on crowded freeways and streets . There's a time and place for endangering yourself and anyone else dumb enough to do 120 next to you or in the car with you, but there's never a time or place to endanger other people trying to get from point A to point B.

Perhaps I'm talking out of my ass and someone please correct me if I'm wrong but maybe he should try disconnecting his battery for a couple minutes to reset the ecu?

Agree with you as well. As for the next part, according to any manual you read, it always states to disconnect the battery before working on the vehicle. If he's changing out the fuel filter, the battery should be disconnected. That would help to pull out any codes or trims that are currently stored.

Put new NGK BKR6ES (I believe that is the correct code) plugs in it and gap them to .28 and also change your plug wires. I had this type of problem happen twice. One time it was the wires. they were arcing off onto the fuel rail and messing up the ignition but only when i was into the car. With running it out of gas you probably damaged a plug or heated one up and the gap is off or electrode is bad. More than likely plugs will fix it.

Get any better luck with your issue yet?

funny things is that im on the way to the shop and the car starts acting perfectly fine  and still is. throughout the entire power band and all. now the problem i have is the lights dimming on me every time im at a red light or stop sign.

Did you remember to put 91/93 octane gas?

of course, never use anything else
