Well... I had my head gasket replaced and my cylinder head refinnished by a local shop. About 40 miles later I notice that I lost alot of horse power and I have lifter tick. I remove the head to prefrom the oil port mod #1. I put the cylinder head back on and now i dont have any oil reaching the head. My oil pressure gauge never worked when i brought the car (less the two months). Do I need to replace my oil pump or is there somthing else going on? my car is a 1996 spyder gs-t

Well, there could be several things that cause this, the simplest it that maybe something happened during the head removal/re-install like maybe an oil port is blocked, could the head gasket be on incorrectly and blocking the port? Maybe something got into a port during the swap?

It does not seem likely that the Oil pump just went out during the work but it is possible...is there oil pressure elsewhere in the bottom end?

Are you going by the stock guage and sending unit? If so you could have a broken wire from the sending unit, a bad sending unit, or a faulty guage. I would like to know how exactly you're concluding that you don't have oil pressure before you panic.

Well my shop told me that I was not getting any oil to the head and that my oil pump and my rocker arm bearings needed to be replaced. I have not checked the PVC but I will check that next. my pressure gauge never worked so Im in the process of installing an after market one. It was because of a (all of a sudden) lost of HP and a loud liter tick that I beleve Its a oil pressure problem. But i could be way off ?!?
