My 1990 Talon TSI's motor died. I replaced it with a 1991 Laser Turbo motor. I used the 1990's CAS with the 1991's motor. I know the CAS's wiring was changed, but was there any internal changes on the CAS.

I believe I am having some timing issues, and before I tear it all apart again, I just wanted to remove one piece to the puzzle.

So should my old 1990 CAS work with the 1991 engine or do I need to rewire the old 1991 CAS and put it back into the 1991 engine?

At the moment the car does start, idle and drive, HOWEVER it feels like I'm pulling a pulling a trailer full of horses!

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated! Thank You!

Thank you for the link, but unfortuntaely that page doesn't tell me if both CAS's work exactly the same. I don't want to cut my factory wire harness to install the '91 if my outcome is going to be exactly like the '90's.

So my question is still, besides the plugs of the CAS being different, are the two devices the same and function exactly the same way?

Thanks for the help guys!
