I have a question related to my CAS sensor.I pulled out my sensor to replace with another out of a galant. After reading to be sure not to put it 180 degrees out...i found a thread that showed the side with the indent on the spinner lined up with the circle/ball on the housing.

So after lining it up and trying to install it back in...it would not go in that way.It was like trying to stick a key in a slot sideways.I originally had a no start issue that im giving up on.Im going to have a shop look at my car...

My question is why wouldnt it go in the way it was supposed to and whats the worst that could happen if i put it in incorrectly?

Thanks

Negative...the way my buddy explained to me was it would either be right or it wouldnt, and if it wasnt i just flipped it around?I would have never messed with it at all had i known i had to mess with the timing.I guess ill let the shop know about it when i drop it off.

Just kind of afraid that the no start issue im having may be because i jumped time or skipped a tooth seeing as how it still drove until i tried to fire it up again. My car started and sorta stumbled...I dont want to do any damage to anything trying to line it up if something broken inside.

Mess with the timing, we are just talking about turning the crank. The engine has to be at TDC for the aligned CAS to fit back in or pretty close to it.

If you're worried about it may have jumped time what are you doing with the CAS? I assume you have or are going to hit the starter once it's back in to see if it starts.
