please help! afc or gm maf

whats up guys,
I want to do all of the supporting mods before I upgrade my turbo. Well I think I am going to go with the evo 3 16g. I am going to either get the gm maf with translator or the afc. Which ever I get I need it to be able to be reversed when it comes time for smog. Also which is easiest to get dialed in good on the stock turbo. Any suggestions? thanx

Truthfully, I'd go with the gm MAFT, and i'd get the safc. You're going to go with this if you want to tune. Zero everything out with the gm maft, set your injector size. Once you have this set start tunning with ur safc.

^^^ this is correct. i dont know if they do inspection on your car or what but with the safc you can make it run how you want it to.. i use both i have my safc zerod out and i tinker with my safc.. i think im going to start playing with my maf a little bit more tho..


plus with the maf setup you will flow more than the stock maf x10000 and you get the advantage of blowing off to the atmosphere and not looseing any performance by doing it.

get the safc first though, more precise in-car tuning capability and the 2G MAF is proven to accurately meter 450+hp with good part throttle driveability, dont remove any honeycombs from a 2G maf.

yes, the afc will help more with a lightly modded car then the gm maf. But both in unison is a good idea.
