Hey all, please bear with me I am not a mechanic and I am fairly new to building cars. I pulled my injectors last week (FIC850)and noticed that two of the four plastic tips on my injectors are faulty. One is completely gone and one is cracked. I’ve heard some people say that this can cause bad spray… I’ve heard other people say they are just to protect the nozzle. Long and story short, am I ok to reinstall them like this or do I need to address this?

uh
At this exact moment, I'd be more concerned about where they went.
If they were installed with the plastic tips on and they were missing when you removed the injectors, that plastic only had one place to go -- the end of the intake manifold runner.

I'd be pulling the intake manifold off now and worrying about the injectors later.

(unless you already did all of this and everything was rebuilt)

Then, no, I wouldn't run them as-is.
You could always contact FIC and see if you can get a replacement set..

Those upper o-rings also look a bit flat. I'd replace them if they've got any good amount of age on them.

Thanks! I’m doing a full rebuild haha, head and pistons are already out.
