Hey guys I'm looking at just replacing my 14b because of age and mileage, I'm looking at the 16g, the small one, would this be a direct replacement, and somewhat of an upgrade? and will it work with my stock fuel injection and at what PSI is safe to run on it? Also most importantly wheres the cheapest place I can buy the entire turbo and not just send mine off?

Thanks guys, J :talon:

yeah should bolt right up to the 1st gen set up. I would run about 14psi to be safe. I like dealing with SlowBoyRacing. Get the EvoIII Big16g if you are going to get one. Also make sure you get the inlet ported and the bigger flapper mod when you order the turbo .. pain in the ass to do it later.

Any of the 16G's will be a direct bolt on for a 1G. In my opinion, you really do need to upgrade your fuel injection and fuel pump to notice any benefit from the larger turbo. As I've said in pervious posts, my car was actually much slower when I slapped on the B16G with stock fuel system. I also had problems with fuel cut because the turbo was flowing more air.

Just a few things to think about.

you should atleast upgrade your pump to a 190 unit and do the re-wire. Then turn it down to 12psi and drive it like that till you can afford a set of injectors.

If you are going small, you might as well go EVO16G since the price for the difference is minimal to what you gain out of it.

The fuel pumps, do they go intank? Dropping tanks is never any fun LOL. Thanks for the assistance guys, the EVOIII does look like best bet for money, I figure at 10-12 psi I should be ok, until I'm ready to proceed further with mods, right now I just have a block bored .20 over, JE pistons, crower rods, 3angle valve job, stainless valves, upgraded lifters, and I just don't want to put my 115k mile 14b on it.

Could you please fill out your profile? It will help with giving info.

It is an intake pump, but you do not need to drop the tank. Use this as a guide line for yourself for the fuel pump install.....

Then click on the FUEL section and use what applies for you.
