S,
Okay, I'm new to DSM cars and I'm getting a 2G Talon Tsi AWD right away and have already planned these mods, hoping for 300hp at the crank. It will be a daily driver, and it might be at the drag strip once in a while. And yes I've read the FAQ, Tuning Guide, etc.

For power:
K&N, 2.5" Turbo-Back exhaust, 1G BOV, TurboXS MBC, 190lph walbro, intercooler piping, T-28 turbo, gauges, etc, and an ACT 2100 clutch

I don't plan on an injector or fuel management upgrade soon. Is there a cheaper turbo that I could reach my 300hp goal with easily? I want to get as much power as the stock injectors will allow. How will I know when/if I'm approaching this limit? Monitoring A/F as I increase boost?

For handling:
Eibach rear sway, strut bars, Eibach Prokit springs(1" drop), KYB adjustable shocks, and some nice 17x8 rims(hard to find) with 235's.

This may be a stupid question(I posted in the newb forum for a reasonLOL, but in what way are the KYB's adjustable?

Any comments on this setup would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Travis

unless you plan to run your shit lean as hell, id plan on getting yourself an AFC or some sort of air / fuel control. If you get a bigger turbo, your going to have to turn up your fuel to. And if i were you, id mod it all like this, and take it to a dyno and have them tune if for you. And again, for the 4th time today.. your planning on modding a 7 bolt. That is great and all, just spend a lil money and do a lil shopping for a 6 bolt you can have waiting to be dropped in when yours walks.

dont piss around with 2.5 exhaust. Spend a LITTLE extra and get a 3 inch o2 eliminator full exhaust. If you take it to a drag strip.. your gonna KEEP moding it and in my opinion, that 2.5 exhaust is going to hold you back. I guess that is a matter of preference tho.

2.5" is plenty for a T28. It'll help reduce creep that 3" will give you. Get a fuel tuning device like a Safc or something and a data logger.

you can prevent creep. Bah, whatever.. its up to him. you need a air/fuel tuning device for sure tho.

Well if I get AFC I might as well get some 550's too to really take advantage of the T-28... I could probably tune for well over 300 crank hp. I just don't really want to try to tune it myself, and there aren't many good shops around here that I would trust, and certainly no DSM shops.

Or I could save some money and get a 14b and still reach my goal. I don't think I could overload the stock injectors with this turbo at 15psi, and I think I could make close to 300hp without SAFC. I know air/fuel tuning makes things safer if done correctly, but I'd be monitoring 02 and EGT for a lean condition.

As for crankwalk... it probably won't be an issue... fingers crossed :)

my buddy ran 12.9 on his tsi awd with a t28 on stock injectors.

2.5 in or 3 in for that small turbo 2.5 in is plently but 3in isnt a bad idea ethier if u decide to change turbos.

as for the 6bolt/7bolt issue... not all 7bolts crankwalk.

Its like this if u jsut chuck that 7bolt and get a 6bolt,rebuild it,and put it in ur spending a rough estimate of about a 2-3 grand. Why not just run the 7bolt until it breaks if it even does. Mod the car with what u want and run it and when if it does crankwalk then get the 6bolt and transfer the mods over, thats what i would do in my opinion.
