I wanted to know from other dsmers out there who has forged pistons if you had to do the rebuild again would you go forged or stick with cast aluminum. I've been reading alot where if you go with forged pistons they dont have steel rings in them wich have a tendancy to slap more as opposed to cast also that whoever you have machineing the block for you has to get piston to cly clearance right as where cast is more forgiveing. I was wanting a forged setup but know im leaning towards the cast pistons. I was just wondering who has forged and honestly would you recommend it for a daily driver pushin 350-450.

I'm running forged Wisecos on a stroker and I don't have any piston slap. If I were to choose pistons again, I'd still choose forged and make sure that a great machine shop did all of the assembly work (like I did this time).

Not in the least. Clearances should be based on what the machine shop deems necessary for the most efficient operation and greatest reliability. My internals are good enough for 600 WHP and if I had told the machine shop I only planned on making 400, they wouldn't have done anything differently.

I run JE pistons in my car, and also don't have a hint of piston slap. It's all about putting it together right. But for 350-400hp, you should be fine on stock pistons anyways.
