piston slap?

OK,

so i get to a red light, it turns green, and i take off, at about 3g's i floor it through 1st 2nd and 3rd, then at the next light i take off normal BUT i hear a loud knocking noise. im running a k@n filter with a big 16g running 18psi with an upgraded fuel pump. i have always had a ticking noise(even after new head was installed) but now its turned into a loud kocking noise. it runs fine, spools up well has good power but theirs this loud knocking from about 3g's on up. i had the timing belt changed with the head about 3 thousand miles ago. if it was a bearing im sure my engine would of died a week ago so i think its piston slap.? does this sound right? could i have jumped a tooth in the timing? how is piston slap caused and how can i fix it? how long can i run my car before i will blow my engine? or should i just not worry about it and just get a new car? also i turned down my boost after this happend to 12 psi just to be safe.

You wouldn't hear piston slap from inside the car. More likely rod bearing damage.
Next car, never redline in first, there's not enough load on the engine to hold things together. Or, if you want to drive like a race car, plan on a new engine every few hundred miles, just like a race car.

how bad of damage is this? if i drove it normal, no hard launches or hard driving, would it last for at least 2 months?

you mentioned you havea fuel pump? do you have injectors to match? 18 psi is a alot, you could be detonating your engine. Which is not good, do you data log? Do you know what your knock count is? Lower the boost man...its a dsm.
