OK,
so i get to a red light, it turns green, and i take off, at about 3g's i floor it through 1st 2nd and 3rd, then at the next light i take off normal BUT i hear a loud knocking noise. im running a k@n filter with a big 16g running 18psi with an upgraded fuel pump. i have always had a ticking noise(even after new head was installed) but now its turned into a loud kocking noise. it runs fine, spools up well has good power but theirs this loud knocking from about 3g's on up. i had the timing belt changed with the head about 3 thousand miles ago. if it was a bearing im sure my engine would of died a week ago so i think its piston slap.? does this sound right? could i have jumped a tooth in the timing? how is piston slap caused and how can i fix it? how long can i run my car before i will blow my engine? or should i just not worry about it and just get a new car? also i turned down my boost after this happend to 12 psi just to be safe.
