Piston Ring Orientation (NPR)

Last one of these engines i built the rings (ross) had instructions to which way the bevels of the rings were supposed to face

these NPR's just say 1st 2nd and 3rd.

Which way is each ring supposed to face? Beveled side down with flat side up? there is no dot marking the top of the ring either.... it's been a while i dont remember how i did the ross rings

The top compression ring if unmarked and beveled should have the beveled edge facing up.



The second (lower) compression ring if unmarked and beveled should have the beveled edge facing down.


If either ring is unmarked and is not beveled the ring can be installed either way.
