piston not fireing

my one piston isnt firing and there is oil in the cylinder. Plus it has low compresion. Any ideas on what is wrong.

i have the same problem with my 91 tsi, i replaced the sparkplug o rings and still have oil in there. is there any one out there that can help??

There are 3 things that could be going bad. First you could have bad piston rings. A way to check that is by putting a few drops of oil in the spark plug hole and then redueing the compression test. Next if that doesnt make your compression rise it is probably that your cylinder wall is scored. That will cause oil to come in there and smoke out of the exhaust. If that isnt it you may have a bent valve. Good Luck

I had the same problem with my 97 eclipse, when i brought it in to get fixed, my spark wires were shot and no spark was hitting the spark plug to ignite the cylinder, try replacing your spark wires and ignition box.

well i got the pistons out and i need new rings....they are spendy little bastards
