That's why you take it somewhere like the Horsepower House to do the work for you. ;)

ditto... i blew a piston in my 7bolt (non-crank related) and my 6bolt is at russ racing getting tampered with and bored .020 over (stroker time!) i just get the feeling that the CEL will be permantly lit once the car starts with all the cross wiring from 6 to 7 bolt

if someone borrowed MY CAR without permission... and did THAT... it would be A$$ raping time...

John, I dont seem to see a problem with your 7 bolt! I think you could still get some more miles out of it!:p

But if you got a free 6-bolt out of it. like cuc is. I would be pissed in public but saying " thanks man" in private.

look at it this way Cuke - you & that 7-bolt will never suffer the embarassing heartbreak of crankwalk...

You DO have a little piston-walk problem...

That beats my old 2g talon tsi awd. It went bang at 6800 rpm. when I pulled the head, all the pistons were there. The motor was semi-locked, but would rotate about 20 degrees or so. Funny thing, only 3 of the pistons would move! #3 rod had snapped in half in the middle, broke the cylinder wall, welded the top end side of the big end of the rod to the crank, but the rod cap unbolted and came off just like it should. The rod actually went around all the way a few times, because it actually shattered the main bearing web. Lucky for me it was under warranty. Poor eagle dealer had to buy 3 engines in 24k miles...#3 rod each time too. I decided to buy a 1g after that, more headroom, less investment, more $ for mods when ya don't have a car payment.
Now if someone has pics of a 1G looking like that...

Cuke,

Sorry to hear about your troubles, man. No one likes to see a dead motor. Five bucks said that the first time any of you guys saw the picture of the oil pan, you got the heebe-jeebies. I know I did.

Its like seeing your first dead body OMG

Exactly, it's not fun not having the car and not driving it now, but if I were to be without it, I prefer the winter over the summer.

 Learn to deal with not having you car. JK

John it must have been your heavy foot on the clutch that destroyed your engine. Good luck with the 6 bolt! What's going into it piston, rod, valve, and turbo wise and what kind of head and block work are you having done?

I'll answer for him.

Stock: 1G head (valves/springs/retainers/cams all stock)
95 pistons, 1G rods, polished crank, Balance shaft Elim., Metal HG, ARP studs

As far Turbo/IC setup... That's yet to be determined.
