Hey congrats on the new monitoring system, I'm sure you're going to love the arguments that occur in the suspension forums.

If your heavy into the road racing and autocrossing, then yeah I can really understand where your going with a post like that, for some tuners it's a huge pill to swallow when confronted with someone who's ambitions lead to some pretty wild decision making.

I love my talon but I wont be spending 15k on a harness, but more likely on the carbon fiber wide body panels. You see I'm stuck in dept, like most of us tuners, because of my ambitions for my car. So until my fiance makes it big and rich I'm going to enjoy my half stock car. Because like you I also have crazy wild ambitions for my car,we just make different decisions is all.

Basically,, welcome to dsmtuners where mild meets wild and then you happen to come across a plethora of information.

What I would suggest is make a few good posts in regards to your experiences and the handling characteristics of these cars or just anything in general, that way you rookie title could be removed and you promoted.

not posted are the wiring harnesses which are being hand made in the united kingdom to the spec of my eclipsel, it will be about 2 weeks before i get those and they only cost $15k

There is no reason at all for a wiring harness to cost any where near that much.

!!! HAHAHAHA OWNED! I looked at the site he provided and couldn't add up 40k worth of stuff. I couldn't find a complete harness, but the ones on there are like (80 pounds) $120 for individual units.

He said $15k. Being he is in the U.S., one would assume he means U.S. dollars. IF he does mean some other currency, it would seem he said $15k to make it sound like he was spending alot more then what he actually is. Why not put the actual cost in U.S dollars?

This guy claims to be a serious road racer, and while he can spend 40K+ on his engine harness, data logging equipment, and fuel management, he doesn't want to spend a few grand for a great brake upgrade which would actually help him on the track? Here's my take on all of this.

If someone wants to spout this and that about what their car has, great. It really doesn't affect me at all. If they're lying, good for them, hope it makes you feel better about yourself. If not, then congrats on having some nice parts.

No point in arguing or flaming them unless you're jealous of something.

However, Dennis Grant is arguably THE most accomplished DSM autocrosser. Did I say arguably? I meant he is. You can't argue that. Despite whatever you may think of his setup, it allows him to whomp on cars that a dsm shouldn't stand a chance against. Can you say that about your car? Or have any documented records of outstanding performance?

Bottom line is, bashing another guy's setup is pretty stupid, and made me lose pretty much any respect I had for you. If his setup is that bad, then he must be a pretty freaking talented driver.
