my first look at a 6bolt i bought for parts. but since an engine i was going to fix blew up on me recently; as discussed here:
https://tinyurl.com/jgpzvw6 , i am going to see if i can get this engine running w/o putting a lot of $ or time into it.

so i took the timing belt cover off to check timing alignment and have never seen so much dirty oil mess in this part of motor. there is an oil leak somewhere but i cannot locate the source of the leak as the oil is splattered all over the entire compartment. i've eliminated the auto-tensioner as source.
any idea which seal typically fails on these 6bolts and needs replacement to stop
the leak? here are some pics (btw, it's worse than what the pics show):

i pulled the turbo pistons out of the 2g block. the turbo pistons are marked 63DTEV. the n/t 63DK. the ptw ratio is pretty much the same for both as the diameter of both pistons, about 1.5" under the oil ring is within 0.002". the compression ratio is probably insignificantly different as the 63DTEV diameter at the top is 0.005 larger and the head is flatter than the 63DK but the 63DTEV rings are 0.046" lower. i also noticed that the wrist pin on the 63DK is very tight resulting in the rod stiff swing movement and zero lateral movement. the 63DTEV head is loose in lateral as well as swing movement.

my question is - what do i look for to select the best 63DTEV piston as the replacement for the broken 63DK piston. here are the pistons:
