damn boy....that looks like it was running either way ot rich or way to lean...its all charred. thats rough

dude what are you talking about "improper tuning"...all that was on there was intake, piping, boost controller (which was off) and exhaust. If you didnt read reply to your post on my other thread, the AFC was only monitoring...i didnt try to tune it at all....that'd be stupid.

And yea it was running pretty rich he said.

Yea we've been wondering that ourselves. That why the only thing comming to mind is crankwalk..since theres no way to know thats what it was....at least i dont think so.

i don't know why you said, it would be retarded to tune it, you just said it was running really rich...whether that blew the engine or not it still could have been tuned. extra fuel may not be dangerous to the engine but it still is crap for performance, and money.

im curious What boost setting were you running and this is on a t-25 correct cuz i have about exactly those same mods and when i get on it my air fuel gauge (i know these things are worthless) shows full rich but i dont really care it seems to pull very hard and i belive the timing keeps going up and it doesnt seem like its getting pulled...but yeah id like to know how many lbs you were running thx...

I had the same thing happend to me and my theory on this was that the 2gen rod bolts are to weak from the factory....

1 gen bolts use 36 ftlbs and 2 gen are 18 ftlbs.....

I broke one of my rods when I was pushing 321whp and I bought another 7bolt block and installed arp rod bolts on my 2gen rods and I havent had a problem since and I currently have 377whp.....

just my thoughts

hmmm i need to look into that other post on the differences between 1g and 2g pistons, cause if thats the case, i might want to grab a set from a 1g. somethign was said about the cars having different compression...but is that cause of the pistons, or gasket or head or what?

2G pistons are better than 1G pistons. You want 2G pistons and 1G rods.

looks like u had a rod bolt break. probably from over revving. if it was too much boost not enough fuel your pistons would be broke or buned through not the rods. whats worse is about an hour after i read this post initally my car blew up as well. I am thinkin it is a spun rod bearing. It is still sitting in a feild entrance waiting to be trailered home
