After 1 1/2 months of work on it, (not straight through obvisoulsy) I got it pretty much wrapped up!

Installed the EVOIII B16g, FIC 550cc injectors, SB intake pipe, Eurothane Mtr Mounts, FMIC, and lots of powder coating. Probably a few other small things too...

nice ass j-pipe which one is it??

Hows the boost creep?? which FMIC?

You should also try to extend your intake tube (mas-> turbo) and build a "cold air box" for it... I noticed with mine that intake temps rose 15 degrees by the top of third gear. I built a box around it and it increases at most 3-4 degrees now :)

From the looks of it you could probably build a really nice box too.. :thumb:

Real clean engine. You may want to put your timing belt cover back on, oil and dirt may get in there. Also, have you ever considered removing your cruise control?

clean the battery top and you are set...

ever consider some type of heat shield on the manifold?

Thanks for the positive replies! in order:

1> SlowBoy Racing J-Pipe, very nice piece!
2> Boost Creep... NADA!! :thumb: holds strong at 15.5psi for now, waiting to get a few more local miles before cranking it up to 18-19psi.
3> Ebay special, homemade pipes

4> Timing belt cover getting painted and will go back on
5> NO WAY removing cruise control, works great, and I'd rather drive this long distances than my 91 Honda Civic winter beater without cruise or AC!! but yeah, it'd make the engine bay a LOT cleaner. owell, just keep those lines clean & polished and i'm OK with it

6> yeah, gonna try to make a cover for the battery and get a new terminal. I work at a stereo shop, so i just need to grab one sometime and put it on. at the end of a long day working on other peoples cars... sometimes i just wanna get in and drive mine!

7> thought about cleaning up the stock manifold cover and painting it high temp flat black, but i'll wait until the paint on the manifold flakes off, i like the way it looks this way

as for the cold air box? you mean a sheild for around the filter right? yeah, i've been contemplating that and trying to think of a good way to do that, and make it look good too. for now though, the hole where the UICP goes through is a good 4" diameter almost, so i was thinking of somehow making a scoop in the wheel well to divert air up through that hole and towards the filter, nice and out of sight.

thanks again for the feedback, keep it coming!

Damn dude. Very nice. I like the color of the valve color. It's like a smoked chrome-ish color...no?
YES, smoked chrome (or black chrome, same thing)

a few pieces where supposed to be actual chrome, but when the clear powder coat when on, it dulled it quite a bit and it came out mettalic grey-ish, not bad, just not what i had wanted. thankfully they were small brackets and whatnot, still looks great IMO!

While you have it clean you should put some automotive paint sealant on the painted parts. Maybe you could put a cleaner that claims it has Teflon in it to see if it would bond to the valve cover. ;)

Is that a heart drawn on your wiper motor?!?

What's the plate where the ABS would go?

It looks like you pulled the A/C. Why don't you pull the rest of the lines, etc?

I like the little touches such as the painted BOV and fuse box covers :thumb:

no, it's a little devil head, but yeah, looks like a heart from far away.

the plate holds my boost controllers, i did a custom 3-stage setup, if you look closely you can see the 3 controllers on the front, and behind the plate is the lines and solenoids

nope, AC blows cold as can be! (need to reinstall the slim-line fan still though, maybe that's what you noticed was missing)

BOV turned out GREAT!! fuse boxes need to be touched up, or cleaned at least. As they say... "It's all in the details"

how did you hook up the boost controllers to what vacuum source now that you have the slowboy racing j pipe without the nipple on it, i need to know where to hook mine up to i have the same setup but single controller, thanks ur help is apreciated

Without looking at it, here's what I'm thinking.... there's a line that comes off the intake manifold that goes to the BOV, put a "T" in there, and that goes to the inlet of the boost controller, the outlet of the boost controller goes right to the wastegate actuator

somone correct me if i'm wrong. thanks

Very nice! Where did you get the powder coating done, and how much was it? I've been looking at getting my valve cover done.

YES, did a complete swap. (mtr, trans, ecu/harness, etc). why?

Just wanted to make sure, I hadn't talked to you about your swap for a few years now and couldn't remember. I've finally given up on the nt trannies. I think me and TimG have destroyed about 6 between the two of us. (most those were mine though)

I painted my exhaust manifold with Duplicolor High heat spray .. like 1800 or somthing like that degrees. Went around the block the next day after it dried, (about 2 miles) and it was all gone .. HA! couldnt even tell i painted it..

All i could say was "wow .. that was a waste of a perfectly fine 10 minutes of my life"

All i smelled for like a week was paint fumes when the car was warm .. haha. So rather .. i fabricated my own diamond plated heat sheild that i painted black.

How much was your powdercoating? .. and did you have do any of the prep for it (ie take the old paint off ect) or did the shop do all that?

Luke :dsm: :talon: :laser:

yeah, my manifold stayed painted just fine, but the 02 housing is flaking off like crazy, and whenever i'm sitting and idleing, i smell paint. yummy

as for the powder coating, i was going to do it myself, but was short on time so i took it to a shop. i did all the prep work (sandblasting etc) i also had to have every piece clearcoated too, which doubled the price pertty much. i think it was like $240 for the labor, plus i ordered powder for about $60.

i feel i got ripped on the PCing, but then again, every piece had to be done twice, so i guess it makes sense. and i took in a bunch of little pieces, and big ones too.

looks real clean. great job!
