I just removed my pedal assembly, "unfortunately" the slack is not in the new looking assembly, Its in the MC rod. but I will be replacing all the bushings anyways with brass/bronze ones. (preventative for clutch install)

I have to adjust the rod all the way out to make the clutch engage at a high point and have no slack.

What does the welding do? I've seen some people do it on their own. It looks like the DIY jobs only keep the nut from coming loose. When shep does it, he welds the arm to the rod, and throws away the nut?

Also what materials are those? the assembly is obviously mild steel, the nuts and washers have a different color suggesting they are not the same material.

When the arm is welded to the shaft is is because there is slack in the arm where it fits. This happens because the nut comes loose and over time the hole in the arm gets worn down.

I just finished taking it all apart. Im putting the shep bushings in, as well as one that I made for the C bracket that connects to the MC rod.

The arm is mint. I guess Ill throw it all back together and hope it lasts. Ill lock tight that mofo on.

Whats a good grease for this? I have white lithium, ford moly, and napa syl-glyde (silicone, for brake pins), and Dielectric. Im guessing the white, or sylglide...
