I've got a logger cable for my 1g dsm that has a male end on it to connect to the female end of a PDA serial sync cable. Problem is that my pda has never worked as a logger, so it's useless for me. But, I just got a new laptop that has a serial port on it, and I know there is logger software for pc out there. So, what do I need to do to get this cable to work and log on my laptop? Just a gender changer, or do some connections need to be switched? What software is recommended for pc?

Thanks!

I was actually wondering the same thing.

You all find out anything?

Do you know what software works (tuner, mmcd...).

Have you guys seen that b2k box that had a jack for a pda logger and a laptop logger?

Just some ideas to help you help me. Hopefully we can find ways to plug our laptops into our 1gs.

Steve is correct. Anyone can plug their laptop into their regular pocketlogger cable. You can go in and change the wire and resolder around yourself (what i did) to make it compatible with the laptop db9 connector, or get the null-modem adapter, which always can be disconnected if u wish to use it on your palm again.

Real easy. ;)

Tunerstein is free, and works on PC/Laptops.

I have a laptop and nothing else, what all do I need to use it as a logger? A cable and the software? Where do I get these items? Loggers have always confused on laptops so if someone could clarify this for me I might have myself a cheap logger.

Thanks
Dan

I'm having problems installing tunerstein... Running win xp pro, I installed all the files I think but it keeps giving me a missing library error. Anyone have any luck getting this to work on winxp?

My logger cable was ripped in half so I need a new one. I would like to be able to use my laptop instead of my pda. I have the software for the laptop. Where do I get this null modem adapter and how much does it cost? Also are there any other good sites to get a logger cable for cheap? (not classifieds)

Wait Im an Idiot. If I have the hardware box all I need is a new cable that connects from the box to pc right? I'll order one. :coy:

I ordered the item mentioned above. I also got the usb to serial adapter. Are these the only two things I need? Please let me know so I can go make a log of my car.
