So im having a problem with my front passenger side have a clunk. When i bought my car( 2g GSX) there was many things wrong with the passgenger side suspension and it had a very nasty clunk. The wheel bearing was bad(I fixed it), the upper control arm ball joint was shot (I changed it)and the outer tie rod end was blown (changed it). The clunk isnt so harsh anymore but its still there under bumps, not while acclerating or decel. My brother gave me his shocks and springs and lower control arm that seemed to be in great shape. Didnt make any noise on his car. Whats left at this point? I think the lower control arm is no good, anyone want to chime in?

Sway bar links and bushings, inner tie rods, steering rack bushing, motor mounts can all make a clunk. I am convinced my mystery clunk is coming from the steering rack. There's two sets of lower control arms on the front. Did you replace both? You can use a balljoint separator (not a pickle fork) to check the condition.

I would check the bushings on the control arms (upper and lower). Other then that, I would look at the upper control arm mounts. Where the mount goes through into the engine bay. There will be two cylindrical pieces that have a nut on them. Check to see if you can move them back and forth from the top, or by wiggling the upper control arm from underneath. You can also see evidence of movement if there are scrape marks on the tubes that come through the strut tower. If these are damaged/loose, they will make clunking sounds only on bumps (since you seem to have replaced other possible culprits).

I've been having this same issue I've replaced all control arms as well as wheel bearings and hubs. I'm going to check my sway bar bushings and am also going to replace my struts and see if that changes anything. Please update if you figure out what the issue was.

If all obvious things have been checked, another potential source of this noise is the infamous centre driveshaft (what Mitsu refers to as propeller shaft) thump. Too much slop in the carrier bearing(s) can cause the driveshaft to deflect enough to contact the floorpan. Definitely qualifies as a thump, clunk or thud whose exact location would be difficult to pinpoint, thus it could easily be mistaken for a "passenger side clunk". Just sayin.

I would check the bushings on the control arms (upper and lower).
^+1. These, along with sway bar bushings, are a very common source of clunk. Use a crow bar to see what movement you get on the control arm bushing areas by forcing control arm movement in various directions. Example: I had a new adjustable "front camber bushing" (http://www.jscspeed.com/catalog/Mit...stment_Kits_for_95_99_Mitsubishi_Eclipse.html) in the RF upper control arm to correct RF camber and after just 18 months the rubber part partially separated and started intermittently clunking on turns. Took a long time to figure out because it's completely enclosed and looks fine.
