Parts picking: Which generation's what is better?

! you mad because our 95-96's are always smiling? At least those without the 97 conversion.

About the 1g head/2g head: if you are planning on using the 1g intake manifold and throttle body, i'd stick with the 1g head as well. (if we're talking sticking to a budget and getting the best out of each model). 2g's are just as good, but require porting of the 1g intake manifold.

i agree, the 1g is dead sexy, i would buy a 1g over a 2g anyday, even if it was a grand more. and one thing better about 1g than 2g is that the 1ga has the pop up headlights, nothing is better than pop upo headlights

Ok we all know that early 1G's have a 6 bolt that dominates and 2G's have better exhaust manifolds, 1G's have better BOV's and '95's get the best ECU, and on an on. I think it would be good to have a thread that discusses which parts from each year or generation is better to swap in, including N/T( I believe the 1G n/t's had better FPR's?) So you get my drift, tell us what parts we need to head to the junkyard for.

2gb is the best looking, but the 1ga with those pop up head lights is a close second, the other two are just goofy looking.

In my opinion I think the 95-96 are the ugliest of all DSM's. The 1GA are just Badass. Even my girl friend thinks that 2G's look like a girls car. It's all a matter of opinion anyway but what the hell the 1Gs design and style are timeless. To me the 2G is just starting to look like last decades style. Now if you haven't got anything under the hood it doesn't matter what car you drive anyway. By the way the fastest stock block DSM's run 1G pistons by the way, and a 1G Head. Lower compression more boost. Less knock easier to tune.
P.S. Who ever said Hondas have great transmissions. If my DSM had only 95 horsepower it would probably last longer as well.

Now i dont like my front end, but it sure as hell isnt as hideous as yours... no offense.

BTW: Honda transmissions are better, by a longshot.

Getting back to the point at what parts are better to use, in my opinion it is a lot easier to run a full 1G head and intake manifold with 1G throttle body with and I hate to say it a 2G throttle body ELBOW. A 1G head will outflow an untouched 2G head easily, unless you go to FFWD connection hand them 6 grand and tell them you want the DEATH head which I wouldn't even call it a 2G head after what they do to it. Go to every site that builds those heads and you won't see but one or two offering stages of 2G heads. plus you can get a 1G head for nothing like 150 bucks!! I have 2 friends with 2G's and both run a full 6 bolt motor with 1G head and intake manifold.

IMHO, of course.

The 1g is a tuff lookin car especialy done right.
but the 2g is a little soft one the eyes or CUTE as my girlfriend puts it!

I just can't get over the 1gs stupid vents on the side, I know there functional, but I don't know maybe you guys like them, kinda like how every kid with a civic and a wing thinks it's the bomb-diggity too.
