oh ok that changes everything. Are you going to get a donor motor to build first of all? If yes start with picking the parts of your rotating assembly. Along with all hardware and bearings and gasket set. Take the whole block and your new parts to a machine shop and let them machine everything to fit and assemble the short block. Take the head to the machine shop and have them tear it down and check it. You will DEF need to get some port work on that head I would also suggest over sized valves and better springs and cams along with the accompanying parts. Choose an intake and exhaust manifold that suits the spool charastics and flow that suits your purpose. Select Fuel system upgrades Ie pump, feed and return lines, filter, AFPR, rail and injectors, Now its time to start thinking about turbo and fuel/engine management. The turbo is one of the most important things other than the controllers to me because it decides how the car will make the power. Choose something with good flow charistics compared to spool time. Bigger is not always better 
. Buy a tuning device that you can use without a college degree, To go along with the controller buy a wide band o2 or knock box type product. I would also suggest an alky injection system. You will need an external gate depending on the turbo you choose, An alum rad if you want, An intercooler you have options there too air to air, water to air. You will want to buy some gauges to monitor egt, oil pressure etc etc as well,. You will also want to upgrade your spark delivery system. A C.O.P is the choice for many but there are several paths and options to choose from. When you have your long block done start looking for a good tranny to go with it along with axles. A new clutch will be in order as well. That should be a good start.
Hey. First of all not to sounds like an ass or anything but are you positively sold on building up a 420A, Have you considered a 4g63 with a basic performance rebuild with just mild bolt ons and tuning could get you 400+. To reply to your ? do some research on the topic ask people who have built up the 420 and boosted it into the range you are looking for. Buy the best parts you can afford. My general rule about building motors is. If I want 500 I build the motor to take 650. You will also have to spend money in your drive line to beef it up and make it take the punishment your going to lay on it. Getting 500 hp even from a 4g63 costs a few thousand bucks no matter how you cut it. The engine has no prob taking the power its the rest of the parts around it that need to be updated and made stronger to take it. I spend more money around the engine to beef parts up than I generally do on the rebuild itself. That kind of power can kill you reallly reallllly fast man, for the number you are trying to hit I would consider a cage and some harnesses also. Whats a high injector an injector that ripped some tubes and is all not trying to pulse. Mega squirt sucks to tune if you are not experienced. I HAD NO IDEA YOU CAN TUNE YOUR COMPRESSION. , He can get 500 hp out of his stock cams and valve trane... NO He wont need new bearings 
your saying if he wants to just go ahed and make 500 hp off his stock injectors and lines with no AFPR with a 255 but if he has a way to control them to put some inebriated ones in there. maybe you should read what you say to people before you attack what others say, At-least i gave him 90% of what he needed and somewhat answered his question. You just said a bunch of stuff you know nothing about and call it a 500 hp set up. hey guy take this guys advise and run his set up and see what happens. Oh and considering your list of mods include JACK and SHIT your engine building skills and understanding of how to make a set up of this caliber is worthless at best. Does your 99 stock gst have a 420A I didnt think so.
