I am Moving to Phoenix, AZ for school and I have leave my car here in Alaska parked until I can get my car either down to AZ with me or until I finish school in roughly 3 years. I am So sad to have to leave my car after all the sweat and blood that it has caused me. Not to mention every drop of both have been very well spent and not at all wasted. I am hoping that the new engine will last out for me as I also hope my family will take good car of it for me. But while I am away from it I will start buying parts and getting ready to spend all the money on it I want. The sad part is that I have almost copmpletely fixed everything except for a couple of things I have planned to do after. So it just hurts to have to park and cover my car. All I know is that school sure as hell better be worth it.

On another note, I cannot believe renting a small U-haul trailer (4x8) would be so expensive for 3 weeks. Nearly $1,000!!! *sigh* at least I will have my little motorcycle to get me around once I'm there.

Don't feel bad bro, I'm in the same boat. Got my 95 Eclipse GS-T which I just did a bunch of work on and got it running exactly how I wanted it, also bought a 90 GSX, and both of them are sitting in NC while I'm over here in Germany for another 2 1/2 years. It doesn't jusitfy me bringing them over here since I bought my wife a new car over here and we only get to ship one car for free. On the other hand, that's 2 1/2 years to build my GSX, so she should be ready to have some fun by the time I do get back :D! On the bright side, when you do finally get back to get to drive your car it'll be an awesome experience!

look at the bright side your car will have put 0 miles on it in 3 years, but i know what you mean shipping cars is expensive my friend had his gsx shipped from MN to CA and it cost him $800. which school you going to.

I am going to be attending Devry Univeristy in Phoenix. I am going for Network and Communications Management. But as my interests are also my car I will probably take some auto classes at a junior college or something. My car only has 4,000 miles on it as I rebuilt it twice in one year...Long story. Also If I were to bring the car down, I would drive it myself as I wouldn't trust Movers to move my car that far. Its the whole paranoia thing. But I guess all that time lets me build money and get parts cheaper than ordering them all the way to Alaska haha. Like a new tranny!! And with auto classes things will just make things even easier amd I will still learn some things on the way.
