partially removed viper alarm

so i bought my car with a turbo timer and that was all i knew about the wiring until i crawled under the dash. i found a partially removed viper alarm system. the brains are gone. the antennae is still there and i have no idea which alarm it was. most of the wires are cut. some are still run into the small fuse box next to the clutch pedal. what is the best option, tear out what is left of the wiring and get a new alarm or just tear it out and use the stock alarm. if i got another alarm i would get one with remote start and keyless entry. what is a good alarm for an eclipse get. something with remote start and keyless entry and maybe an auxiliary option?

I suggest ripping all of it out, getting an alarm of your choice, and start from scratch. Who knows how the prior connections were/are made or why the alarm was removed in the first place.
I didn't check your profile, so if you have a manual transmission, just remember that your nuetral safety will need to be bypassed for the remote start portion to work and there's no safety if you leave the car in gear and go to start it. In my 15+ years in the car audio industry (both professionally and hobby) I've seen numerous vehicles damaged to "I thought I left it outta gear).

ok yeah i kinda thought i should just rip it all out. i do have a manual. is there any way i can somehow tie the neutral safety switch into the remote start so that it just doesnt work unless it is in neutral? what is the best way to install a new alarm system as far as connecting the wires posi taps or splitting the wire and wrapping another through and around the original wire? if you follow that. i saw it done on an installation video

I ALWAYS solder connections. At least that ensures you get a solid connection. I used to work for a company that carried Clifford. Clifford actually had a remote start system designed for manual transmissions. I personally use the Clifford 750 on my 1G. There are numerous ways to trick the system. Personally I've installed numerous remote starts on manuals, but I ALWAYS have the owner sign a waiver.
My recent one was a 350Z, remote start, windows up and down with the alarm, proximity sensor, blah ,blah, blah. He had recently got the car repainted due to hail damage. He went back to the paint shop one day to get some touch up, was so impressed and proud of my work he showed it off. What he didn't realize, he left it in gear, it attempted to start, and slammed into the side of the building. Now the owner is paying for damages instead of receiving the warranty touch up.

ok yeah i like soldering and heat shrink a lot but im thinking its gonna be pretty hard to get a torch and solder up into my car. i haven't done any wiring on cars accept radios and systems. ill give it a try. so is clifford a good alarm system to put in? im just getting into cars so idk a whole lot yet. that sucks for the 350z guy. my friend just got one. they are sweet cars

There are WAY more difficult cars to work on than DSM's. I esspecially hate European (BMW, Mercedes, etc). Nowadays, DEI (Directed Electronics) pretty much owns everything, so basically get a DEI brand and you'll be fine. Like I said before, my 1G has a Clifford 750 because of the Blackjacks feature. My 2G has an Autopage and my Trailblazer has a Marksman M9 system. I haven't had any issues out of any of these.

A good place to start, besides the manufacturer website is sonicelectronix.com. I've ordered a bunch of stuff from them, have no complaints, and they have good prices.

yeah im sure there are more difficult cars. thanks for the info. thats website does have pretty good prices.
