i dont agree with the digi or yellow its not on any uniform we wear the only yellow ever seen is in a commercial on the star that has no significance to us what so ever. Olive dab is the color we wear as a whole its the color of our patches and uniforms. I agree with the black and grey but yellow is not an army color. just my 2cents there

Just a little heads-up for the O.P.- this is borderline a build thread, which is not really permitted in the tech forums. You should probably do everything in your power to convert this thread to a journal entry to prevent it from being trashed.

Guess I'm a bit confused cause it is posted under the "newbie/appearance/exterior/interior"?? So why would it get trashed?

I know it has turned into a forum more about the project itself... but what I really needed help with in the beginning at least was info on the body kit, which would be appearance/exterior?! That part of the project is nearly complete now.... cause NO I did not get it back today! :banghead:

I also need help with info on where to get the customizations on the interior done that I need?!

So I'm not sure why it's not in the correct place as you say, but I guess if it gets deleted, it gets deleted... no huge deal... it's been great getting some input on the project and I appreciate all the advice, good and bad! :thumb:

Because it's beginning to turn away from being tech thread in regards to your body kit install question and turning more toward a showcase of the car itself and your future plans for the car.

Just be careful which direction you let the thread go; or if you'd rather begin a journal entry which can also be viewed / commented on by the general public, you may do so here:

Trust me, I much-prefer the build thread format that was used in the past...but this is how the site's founder would prefer to handle present build threads, and I'm just doing my job.

I'm not sure why you would say that yellow is not an 'Army Color' when it is part of the ARMY LOGO? Just because you don't WEAR any yellow does not mean it's not part of the Amry... I'm pretty sure your Army Football team wears yellow?!

Either way, the yellow will give the car some pop and I think will accent the whole design well... if I use OLIVE it will be too drab and boring - Besides, I'm not doing this car so it will be some sort of exact representation of what you guys WEAR! :ohdamn: That would be a little boring considering everything you wear is meant to BLEND IN with your surroundings! ROFL

Appreciate the impute though! :D

All good! ;)

I've used forums on other sites before... and sometimes your threads take on a life of their own, so I completely understand.

BTW... do YOU know of any place I can find interior customizations?? I have tried just doing random searches online, but I just keep finding sites that offer plain normal interior stuff... but nothing that I can completely customize to be exactly what I'm looking for (like on 'pimp my ride' or something! LOL). ANY hints on this would be great!

I've actually seen photos on here of people who have some cool customizations, and I've tried contacting them to see where they got their stuff from... but no luck so far on help on this issue!

Army = aren't really marines yett.

I like the fact your making a tribute car. But do you plan on driving it? I'd be embarrest to ride in a dsm With a huge bodykit. Not to mislead you. Just my opinion. There are alot of vehicles that are tributes. Maybe you should look those up and see what they did. And eveyone knows u never waste your money at body shops when putting a bodykit on. Put it on yourself. Learn it and money you will save

M - Muscles
A - Are
R - Required
I - Intellegance
N - Not
E - Essential

See, I can do it too! :p

Yes, I'm going to drive it! IF I ever get it back!?

So tell me guys.... those who have had body kits installed at shops, HOW LONG SHOULD THIS TAKE and how patient should I be with this body shop??

The have had it "ready to paint" for a week and a half now and keep pushing BACK the day I can pick it up?!

Initially they told me it would take 2-3 weeks, which seemed pretty reasonable, but I'm at 6 weeks now and my patience is COMPLETELY GONE!! I WANT MY CAR BACK!! And of course all the while I'm still shelling out money for the Rental insurance!

SO how long should this have taken?? I feel like my son and I could have done it by now and we don't know anything about it! :ohdamn:

HELP - I'm going TO the shop this morning I think to get some FACE TO FACE time and let them know how pissed off I am about the whole thing! WTF For their sakes I HOPE it's ready to go!!

Personally I've installed a body kit on my old 02 lancer took me 9 days to fit and customize then mold and bond it to my car. Assuming its a fiberglass body kit it shouldn't take 6 weeks to fabricate a rear bumper. Honestly that car should have been primed and painted by now.

As far as ideas why not the ranger creed? Since your son assuming his MOS is 11B, it will mean more to him then the nco creed. Once a ranger always a ranger.
Toss a tab on the back windshield. Dont forget the army leg wings aka (silver wings)

it took us about 4 hrs to put an entire body kit on and fabricate brackets and support bars.

What the hell are army leg wings dude?

FINALLY got her back from the shop today... and it looks amazing!! Dont have many picts yet... but here she is!! :hellyeah:

Thanks for all the help/suggestions!! I'll start a new thread on the actual project with the photoshoped design on it once I have that worked up a bit....

OH... And STILL looking for places to get interior work done!! :thumb:

Is that single stage paint or color then clear? The paint looks good from what I can tell. I like everything except the Blitz front bumper, those are so 2001!

I cant wait to see this thing done either.

No offense but that car is hideous. I mean it is down right ugly as sin.

And you might want to do something about the 3 degrees of positive camber.

I have to agree 100%. A flat green and black 1gb car like wild cardz car would look meaner..

I would have done some type of digital pattern and no body kit.

I just want to thank you for making a car for my branch of service. Its really appreciated.
