Palm V with MMCD?

i bought a palm V and ordered a cable and MMCD software off of ebay. But i just read that MMCD requires OS 3.5 minimum, and Palm V has 3.1 can anyone confirm this?

also, it (^) says that Palm V can be used with an OS update, but i have searched, and cant find where or how to get that.
