Palm lllxe and Palm desktop HELP

ok, so i got myself a Palm lllxe(OS v3.3.5.0) and i want to hot sync it with palm desktop. I down loaded Palm Desktop 4.1 4 and i cant get them to work together. I have a brand new HP media Center PC with windows XP
when i try to hot sync my palm just says "The connection between your hand held computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your set up and try again"
is my Palm to old to run with Palm Desktop 4.1 4?? Do i need an older version??
I want to run the datalogger program from Digital Tuning Inc. as soon as i get this figured out, but as you can tell, i suck at the internet.

any tech. Guru's have some advice for a NeWb??

Same thing happening here. Check out Palm's online support forums, and if you figure this out post here, because I can't get mine to hotsync either.

i had the same problem and all i had to do was click on the hotsync sign down in the bottom right corner and a list will pop up and then you just have to click on either local usb or local serial which ever one doesnt already have a check next to it. hope this helps
