p0446 evap control circet malf

i have this code and dont know what it is i read something about a 98 ecu in a 97 with throw this code. the solenoid is good i think but how can i test it and any ides

1- Loose gas cap
2- Vacuum line off of fuel tank or evaporative charcoal canister
3- Bad evaporative vent solenoid
4- Bad wires to evap vent solenoid.

have you searched the forums with this code there are quite a few.
