OK I just put my 2.4 6 bolt in my 99 gsx. I want to clean up the firewall a bit along with some of the vacuum lines. On the firewall of my 2g I have two sensors right behind the intake manifold for the evap system I believe. Can I simply remove these sensors or will it trip a check engine light. Also if I disconect them do I have to vent the evap since there will be no vacuum lines??? Let me know I want to mount the coil pack there.

IF you're not concerned with emissions, then eliminate all of your emissions related things. This will involve you removing your EGR and blocking it off, etc. Also, If you unplug any of the electrical connections (even the FPS) you will trigger a CEL.

What he said. Don't forget to plug the nipples coming off the TB and leave all the harnesses connected.

95% of the vacuum lines that are there are completely unnecessary if emissions aren't a concern.

Essentially, you can do away with the purge/evap solenoids as well as the fuel pressure solenoid. As previously stated, leave them electrically connected and just tuck them down lower out of the way. Block off the EGR, and yank out all of those lines as well..

Less BS vacuum lines means less areas to develop headache inducing boost/vacuum leaks.

You only need a small handful of lines. (FPR, BOV, boost controller, MAP sensor if you are running factory management and boost guage) Everything else is directly emissions related.

If there are any doubts as to what you should keep and what can be discarded, consult your FSM. (You DO own one, right?) ;)

Have fun!

I disconnected all that BS, but left the harnesses plugged in. it runs great.
