ok so i got a 1g throttle body ported to 65mm and the butter fly polished aswell ,so insted of taking my 2g manifold off i got a new one from a friend and i ported it to match the throttle body.I also ported the runners as far as i could to match the gasket and then i was going to wet sand them with 1000 sand paper do you think ill gang or lose doing this

yes you will gain a lot more top end since the 1g mani flows alot more than a 2g.. just make sure when you gasket matched the intake mani to the gasket of the 2g head its perfect.... and yoou notivce more mid range and topend

ok its my first port job and if its not that perfict will it hert proformance

should i get one of those spacers that go inbetween the head and manifold

no need for the spacer make sure that the surface area on the manifold is smooth VERY smooth the 1000 gritt sand paper should do a good job.. after you did the hard work with a dremel(carbide) and if its not done right it will hurt performance but at your level it will be little to no issue
just get it smooth and youll be fine. for more tips on porting go to

is there any gain on porting the runners

yes there are gains to it.. its time comsumming but over its worth it if you are short on cash.. just port match it to the gasket it and make it SMOOTH AS ####. and you should be fine. its all trial and error i proted my 1g mani TB and runners(or as far as i could get ) and noticed a little gain nothing major but i switched to a smim not long after.

so your saying honning it is bad i thought you wanted a smother intake track

nope you dont want it too smooth because then it wont cause the air any turbulance !
you need the turbulance when its going in the the engine...

you want it as smooth as possible on the EXHAUST SIDE ... mainly so carbon dont build up ! :sneaky:

Since no one is answering your question I will give it a shot. I would leave the porting of the runners till you have the head ported first. It's fairly logical to assume it would hurt flow without porting the head to match.
