recently my check engine light came on, so i took it to autozone and got a p0170 code, which i read probably 10 threads on here and almost everyone says just replace your front o2 sensor and you will be good to go. Went to remove the old one and had no luck. Tried all the tricks in the book including heat pb blaster soaking, etc. Got frustrated enough and took it to a local conrads thinking i guess i will have to pay someone but at least it will get done. THEY CANT GET IT OUT EITHER. Without wanting to strip it, my plan is to get a new o2 housing and sensor and install it. Unless someone has any better ideas/advice, anything would be helpful, thanks guys. :ohdamn:

Take the exhaust side of the turbo off. Unbolt the exhaust manifold and the four turbo bolts, downpipe, and the vband clamp on the turbo. Whack it with a mallet and it will pop off. Put that ####er in a vice and wrench it out. Only took me an hour to do it.

now that you say that, it probably would be best to do it that way, although i plan on upgrading to a punishment racing o2 housing anyways so i guess this would be the best time to do it. I will try and remove the stock one that way though, thanks man! Anyone happen to know if the punishment racing recirculated o2 housing will bolt up to the stock downpipe until i get a punishment downpipe?

I dont know if the punishment o2 will fit a stock downpipe i have a spare stock one with the sensor out you can have for free if you come get it im in ohio. I also have the punishment one too but not for free. To get yours out you need to heat it to death with the torch and take it out with a regular socket not a slotted one. Cut the wires. It will likely strip they make taps for o2 sensor threads. They suck but can be done i do them a lot at work.

This happened to me and when I finally got the o2 sensor out, threads were stripped in the o2 housing. They were bad enough that decided to just go ahead and get a new o2 sensor housing. So if you're planning to get a new o2 housing anyway, just go ahead and get it and save yourself the headache.
