Ok so yesterday I changed my oil and as I was leaving my buddys house I noticed that the car was over heating really bad. So I pulled over and my overflow tank had some coolant that was boiling also it was spilling on te ground.

I had the same problem on my 1g and the guy down at the local dealership said it was my head gasket, and they wanted way to much money to do the work. I checked compression and everything looked good so I took a chance and bought a water pump and also changed the timing belt, tensioner, and it worked. No more boiling coolant out of my overflow tank. My old water pump was toast!
