Options for exhaust

TLDR I screwed up my exhaust what's the cheapest way out.

Hey all, want to give you some
back story first. Installed hks catback to cat and stock downpipe. Then instead of buying a downpipe, I had an exhaust shop make one(not sure if it's press or mandrel...and the used the stock dp flange) and they welded it to my catback... So now I'm stuck trying to figure out what I should do to install my Evo 3 o2 housing. I called rre to possibly get there dp but then I would have to cut the exhaust and either weld a flange or weld them together(which I don't want). I've even thought about cutting off my muffler and have a new exhaust shop make a new exhaust.

So...you now have a 2 piece exhaust from the turbo back?

I would just get a new dp, cut what the first shop did off, and have new flange put on the cat back to match up. You may need a "test pipe" to make up space, but all that should be simple for a shop to fab. You may have to have them make you the test pipe and have a cat on hand, so you can install the pipe later. Most shops won't do setups without cats due to federal emissions regulations.

Other than that, there's no alot of cheap otpions unless you got a complete srs cat back exhaust or something used

Yeah that kind of sucks when you have to do that. What I've done is just buy universal flanges and gaskets, cut where needed, and weld in the flanges so at least I can take it apart.

You might just get a new downpipe that is flanged for a stock bolt on situation then just add a flange to your cat to put it back to a stock bolt on configuration.
