hey everyone, I purchased a junked 95 AWD talon exactly a whole year ago for 700 bucks, and decided to rebuild the motor and the transmission, and later had to do major work to the front axles completley. When I bought the car though, the guy had already machined the 2G head whitch I held onto. I found dsmgraveyard actualy machines new 6 bolt blocks to work with 2G heads, so thats what I ended getting. I shipped my transmission to dogbox for a stage 2 rebuild with heavy duty 3+4 gears with a welded center differential and spyder 4 upgrade. I kept the original transfer case and didn't rebuild it because a local transmission shop said it didn't look like it needed to be rebuilt but my transmission deffinatley did.

The intake is the same as stock size pipe but with a better filter than the airbox, the turbo is a 14b from a 1G, connected to aftermarket J-pipe and intercooler piping, with it being a front mount intercooler, stock boost controller and MAF sensor, a basic greddy BOV, following the stock sized intake manifold.
This motor also has a balance shaft delete for more reliability.

Was also wondering if somebody could explain to me how I should go about learning about the dsmlink? I know before I change my stock setup I need to figure out the ecu but I can't figure out where to look for as much as i've been researching

Ok the best thing with dsm link is to watch the many demos on what to do first when you get dsmlink its on the homepage. I would start there its there to help.

I've looked all around te dsmlink site but I don't understand what it actualy is called. The A3 thing? What would you get for the 2G ECU? Does it work through your laptop or just strait to the car?

You will want to get ecmlink V3 it is the same as the old dsmlink. They just changed the name and some of the features. You can probably get away with V3 Lite, its cheaper and you can always upgrade later. When you order ecmlink you will be able to specify the year of your car. Also ecmlink connects from your laptop to your cars obd port. Once you make some adjustments you can save them to the cars ecu and then the laptop can be unhooked until you want to tune again.

thanks for the help, but I was also hoping for some opinions on my setup as well....mostly because this is going to be my first time driving a dsm, and this is a build that was worked on by my friends who have dsms and I did some stuff too, but its supposed to be out of the shop tomorow from the axle work. I've read alot of good things about this setup but and shep has assured me that this stage 2 trans is really realiable and well put together
