Opinions on install kit

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

First off you gotta remember "You get what you payed for it". There is a reason J-pipes go for 100 and not 40 or less. Its an ebay kit so I would steer against it, but there are plenty of people out there to tell me other wise. There are DSMtuner members who stand by the ebay evoIII 16g.

I personally would not get it. Maybe the j-pipe but i would get better oil lines etc. Also website vendors for DSM have kits for you to use. Most of the time the kit is under 2g 16g install kit. Check this kit out 2g 16g install kit Its double the price you are looking to spend, but its a reputable dsm aftermarket part retailer. I have a dejon powerhouse j-pipe installed, 100 bucks but the advantage is that its widened to 2.5 inches for the intercooler piping. Dejon J-Pipe

goodluck

ya dont get it.. quality= not cheap

I love how people see the word "ebay" in front of something and say its garbadge right off the bat with out knowing shit when I gaurantee you more than half the people on here own these "shit ebay parts" in some form or another , weather it be a downpipe, fmic, intercooler piping, j-pipes, or what have you, the point is there are a shitload of parts that are perfectly fine and will perform and last as long as good as overpriced "name brand" stuff, go ahead and search, you will find alot of people using "ebay" j-pipes...and for one thing, EBAY DOES NOT MAKE THE PARTS so they are not ebay parts, they are juat parts that are most readily sold on ebay, I have seen apexi n1 knockoffs sound the same and last as long as the real deal apexi n1 exhaust, it's when you get into expensive parts like turbos that may want to stay away from , but even then, there are more than enough people who have "ebay 16g's" that last just as long as MHI 16 g's all they have to say is "my buddy" or "I heard" , nobody ever has pictures of these turbos that don't last and blew up after 200 miles, I'm not favoring ebay stuff I'm just saying, if you have no first hand experience with proof then shut up, so go ahead and get your J-pipe install kit, you wont have any issues with it and it will last as long as paying a shitload for "name"

sorry for the double post, but there are alot of threads on here from people with problems from these " reputible vendors" that are not validating warranties and such and they are out thousands when they could have been out a few hundred because they had the same failure as name brand instead if they got the exact same thing off ebay, I'm just saying , name brand doesnt always make it better....

This might be a stupid question but whats the other pipe for? not the J pipe...

Where could i get new water lines? or should i even replace mine?

...im just swapping out the t25 for the 14b...if you are askin about mods, check my profile

The only think you absolutely need is a feed line. And a j pipe for the side mount if that's what you're still running. You can get those from numerous places. Just don't spend big money on an install kit. You'll soon realize most of them are just junk and you won't use most of it.

i see. so i ordered the install kit. But what your saying is i dont need anythign else?

Don't forget you will need couplers and clamps for those pipes as the pic shows it's not included, and if you want a straightforward install you could get a 1g oil return line, it's not necessary, but if you want to save money you could always slot your holes on your existing oil return and call it a day.

I see. Where can i get a oil return line? and thy sell couplers at autozone right? i havent been there in awhile...

i agree 100% with this guy ^^^^

So, a pipe with a flange on the end is for $100 is better than one for $40? I really don't see how someone could mess that up. Even a moderate quality weld should be able to hold 30psi.

A $100 pipe with a flange is over priced, so is one that's $40. I'd settle for the lesser of two evils.
