Hey fellow DSMers! I can't seem to get the Tactrix cable to pull the information from the ECU. I have pulled the ECU and checked to see if the code is correct on the board. It is the flashible ECU. I'm running windows 7 thanks:banghead:

yes I scanned the correct ports. version 1.41. No DSMLink since I am running the plastic box ECU found in the 98-99 GST. and the cables are not damaged. I also checked for 12v signal at the plug for the jumper wire to plug into.

the drivers are installed correctly. didnt know if the windows 7 was the issue seeing that some people has had the issue but never verified. just sucks if it is cause i got the panisonic toughbook,.

try installing somewhere thats not in the normal program files folder. i hear windows 7 is picky, works fine on vista for me. gl.

when i hook it up and chose the 98-99 itll say complete. and thats as far as itll let me go

Anybody near the lynchburg are for assinting me on this?

Hey man Im not too far from Lynchburg, Im right outside of Farmville in Cumberland county and I've played around with it a little and I got it to read my ECU and I even flashed one of Ceddy's mods onto mine. One day it was working perfect and then the next I couldnt get it to work at all. When are you free? Maybe we can both figure something out. I'm going to be finishing putting my head on my car today but Im off tomorrow and Monday.

Is the reflash connector hooked up? Not to insult your intelligence but I've seen it happen

yes LOL

I would try one of the first 2 settings (I'm at work..but I think its like eclipse 96-01/evo 5-6 or something)

not yet. found my old laptop with XP on it so im loading everything on it.

I need to elaborate - My brother has 3G 4G64 Eclipse. He is able to read and pull the rom info correctly.
This was using the 1.3U cable however. (have not tested his car with the 2.0 Setup. (Car is getting body work done)

So, using his laptop (Win7Pro), the same file structure is still there and works for his car. However it will not work for mine, and i am putting the files from Ceddy's site into the correct locations. Although his is in a hex format format and not a bin i have it in the same location. The definition (xml) (20550011.xml) file is also in the same location as his 3G set is.

The file locations are:
For ROM location => C:/Program Files/OpenECU/EcuFlash/Hex/
Metadata location => C:/Program Files/OpenECU/EcuFlash/rommetadata

It seems that i still cannot get the Unrecognized Rom message to go away...it seems to be dumping the entire ECU, but has nothing to go by.

Update:
Installed ECUFlash on a XP laptop. Still the same issue remains. Driver is correct
I eliminated the extension cable (as advised)..

I do have the ceddy files in the right location.
The rommetadata location is ...
"C:\Program Files\OpenECU\ECUFlash\rommetadata\Mitsubishi\eclipse"

I did save the "unknown rom" and here it is...

Can you datalog at all? I've had trouble pulling CEL codes with Evoscan v2.9.
The reflash pin doesn't need plugged in to datalog or read codes. Just for flashing.

I would try Evoscan v2.8 if you haven't already.

Also, open ECUFlash and see if it shows your cable as being connected. It will say something like "Tactrix Openport 2.0" in the bottom right corner of the screen. If that shows, the drivers should be installed correctly.

On Windows 7, don't install EvoScan or ECUFlash in the Program Files directory. Windows 7 is dump and makes duplicate files which has caused issues for some people. Just make a whole new directory, like C:/Tuning/EvoScan/ and C:/Tuning/ECUFlash/.

Appreciate the reply, I will download and try.

Yes, it does show Tactrix Openport 2.0 in the bottom right corner of ECUFlash.

I have it installed on my laptop (win7) and have no issues with my 3G Eclipse. It is just this one, i cannot get a it to work...i will report back shortly.

I have installed EvoScan 2.8 and it is working.
I have it both on Win7 and WinXP -both do datalog.

It is currently set to Mitsubishi MUTIII -which it is working & does not lock up program
But if i set it to DSM/3000GT/Eclipse it will lock up the program.

ECU Type is E4AC

-thoughts ?
