As for your gears, they look fine. To me it looks like you just need a new shift fork.

Sleeper98GST is right.

Also use new lock nuts on the 5th/reverse syncro. Looks like that one was reused...I am not sure why it is staked in 4 places.

I'm starting to think that maybe a prior owner has gotten into the tranny multiple times. I have read elsewhere that shift forks tend to break when you "overshift". I'll have to see if I have the correct shift cables and shifter assembly. Most likely I will go ahead and purchase a new set of cables and a "short-shifter", along with new shifter assembly bushings.
