i am only getting 9psi at full boost. i did a boost leak test and i dont have any. my cel is on. and my uncle (mitsu mechanic) said that my wastegate solenoid was bad. but replaced it and it still is only 9psi. but the electrical connector that goes the the wastegate solenoid is corroted, so how would i go about getting a new one or cleaning that one?

If you want to keep the stock boost control solenoid (BCS), I'd try a junkyard. But you can just install a MBC for $50 and adjust the boost to 12psi.

Are you getting a CEL? If so, what is the code? The reason I ask is that if you unplug the BCS, the ECU will throw a code. Most folks that install an MBC will leave the BCS plugged in but not doing anything just to avoid the CEL. If it's throwing that code, I'd get a BCS and plug from a junkyard just to avoid the CEL. In that case, you could stick with the stock BCS or go to an MBC.

I forgot to check your profile, but if you do go with a MBC, you need a boost gauge (not the stock one) so that you can adjust the MBC and know what boost it's set at. I assume you have one, because you posted that you only hit 9psi.

yea i was planning on going with a mbc i just didnt know if it would eliminate my bcs. and i do have a aftermarket boost gauge already that was the first thing i got.thanks for the info

It tends to be hit or miss when deleting the stock BCS. When I removed mine, it threw a code. I threw the BCS back in and no more CEL. Back before I stored the car in October, I had removed it again and was not throwing a code for that.

Although it does seem to be your BCS, another thing to check as far as your boosting problem would be the wastegate and actuator arm. The arm could be stuck holding the wastegate open only allowing you to build 9 lbs.
