i just put in a new head 5 days ago. its been just about 9 months since my timing belt went. anyways... today i finally got almost all the problems solved but this one. i have a home made boost controller and it worked perfectly fine before my timing belt went before. well, tonight i was test driving my car and i turned up the boost which would usaully is 17 psi, but tonight it was only 10 psi and it dropped down to 8 psi. when i redid the head i put on the cyclone intake manifold. i took out mostly all the vaccums i dont need. do u think that my turbo is bad or i have a boost leak somewhere? oh yea, i have a 14b turbo. my mods are.....

cyclone intake manifold, k&n air filter, hacked mas, 3'' downpipe, 2.75'' intake pipe, 2g elbow, 2g exhaust manifold, crushed 1g bov, boost controller.

i was also thinking if i should re hook up my boost controller too.

lend me ur opinions and no sh*t talking plz.

thanks
john

When your timing belt went, did you make certain that your head didn't send your turbo a present?

i dont think so. i forgot to mention that my turbo has no shaft play and no oil in it. but i tried to spin it and it spins alil bit not alot. maybe 1 1/2 turns, if that. also, if i redo my timing on my cam angle sensor, u think that has anyway of effecting the turbo spooling?

thanks,
john

I think it's time to take a trip to Home Depot to make yourself one of these:

Is that Cyclone intake manifold functional? How confident do you feel about your head not sending a gift to your turbo? I believe that you can damage the blades and still have no shaft play. Maybe I should be asking if anything was damaged on the head before you rebuilt it.

yes, the cyclone manifold is FULLY functional  . the head that went only had bent valves. i got a brand new head on it. my friend from AMS told me something like that too, but im gonna have him take a look at it.

thanks,
john
