when i first got my 95 talon tsi FWD is was running pretty good, although there was some hesitation only under high boost. first off i changed the spark plugs. drove it, ran great thought it was fixed...10 mins later it went back to hesitating. then i put new wires on, ran great. 10 mins later hesitating again. so i drove it like it was for maybe 600 miles, about a week and a half to work and back. then the CEL came on. it was hesitating VERY badly not just under high boost, and it was also starting rough. i was thinking fuel problem, so i took the injectors off and had them tested, they were fine. still no improvement. i decided to take it to a shop to get it looked at since it was g etting real cold out and i dont have a garage. the CEL code was that one of the cylinders wasnt firing properly. so they put a new coil pack on. didnt change much. then they put on a new boost solenoid. drove it and thought it was fixed. i went and picked it up, it drove fine at first. but then the CEL came back on and it ran worse than it ever had. i drove it home. i got ahold of one of my friends and we were going to boost leak test it. i went out to start my car this morning and it wouldnt start, it was just turning over and every other try it seemed like it would start but it wouldnt. also when i was driving it it was hard to keep the rpm's high, so i had to drive in a lower gear than usual. so im here and i cant boost leak test it and dont want to have a shop screw me over for more money. i was wondering if a boost leak could throw the CEL, or if it was something else and if it could cause my car not to start. any help would be appreciated.
