omni 3bar mitsu map sensor

So recently ive been trying to learn about map sensors. I believe i still have the factory one as well as the factory maf. I was wondering if i need to upgrade to one of these omni mitsubishi 3 bar or 4 bar plug and play map sensors for my car to run smooth? I currently have a 16g and will be upgrading to an fp green or something similar. do i need one of these? and if so, do i just plug it in and thats i it? or do i need to program it into my dsmlink v3?

At what point is the factory one not enough?

Our cars didn't come from the factory with a MAP sensor. You may be mistaken and referencing the MDP sensor. It's useless for logging purposes and only used by the EGR system. Map sensors are mostly used for logging, but absolutely necessary for running speed density. It essentially converts manifold pressure into air mass data in a speed density setup. In your case you don't really need one unless you'd like to log boost with Link. RRE sells an MDP to MAP adapter.

A good tune and proper logging with link, and the proper fuel setup is all you'll really need for a larger turbo.

yea im not doing speed density and dont plan on pushing more that 400-450whp so am i fine with the factory maf and such?

Our cars don't have a factory MAP sensor. We have an MDP sensor, which is usually mistaken for a MAP. The MDP is purely emissions related and has nothing to do with fuel control. The Omnipower Mitsu-Style sensors are for those who want to use a MAP sensor with the stock 2g manifold. It installs in place of the MDP sensor and can be logged by the ECU. The main reason for installing a MAP is to run Speed Density, which eliminates the MAF sensor, and instead uses just Intake Temp and MAP sensors. You could install it just for the sake of monitoring boost, but that would be the only benefit. The ECU is using the MAF readings for fuel control at this point.
