Ugh... this thread is going to be perma-deleted as soon as you get this resolved X. Technically, we can't have any vendor bashing, bitching about services, bumping, or threads with little direction. I'll keep it open for now so everyone can find out what happens, but it has to be cleaned up a little.

It's all good, I appreciate it bro. I wasn't really bashing any vendor...just making my point that Mike has upset me, and treadstone won't guarantee their manifold after tapping for egt, that's all.

I love you paul :p

BUMP :spam:

Just kidding hahaha...I have a new turbo and manifold on the way now, and have to get this car running again in the next week so that I can ship it outta here. Has anyone else received any emails from Mike lately because I sure as hell haven't. This road trip is looking more and more like a true story in the making :notgood:

I've talked to him a couple of times. Not about your manifold though. He has a flange I needed, so I didn't want to argue at the time so I would be sure to get the flange. I did mention you to him before though, so his customer service seemed a bit...lacking, towards me..But he has seen your E-mails, I'm sure of that, as he's replied to some I've sent to him after you.

Ugh...and that's what really pisses me off

I'm leaving here in less than a week...after my huge road trip to Cali then Florida, it's on like damn donkey kong to Virginia. Just finally got the car running tonight, and come to realize half my problems have been because my turbo is completely gone! So much shaft play it's disgusting, and it won't even spool at idle or when I try to give it gas. That baby barely had 1,000 miles on it if that...somebody is really pissed right about now

My car loves me...

Yo X, keep us updated on where you are if you can. Because when you hit I-95 from florida and ride up the east coast, I can meet up with you somewhere. We can get some food or whatever, just talk cars and you can take a damn break from driving. Actually, we can probably find something fun to do if you give me a heads up. Theres an indoor go-kart track around here. It's fun as hell. Anyways, I'm like 10 minutes from philly, an hour from atlantic city and baltimore, and an hour or so from washington DC. So, yeah, let me know. I can probably get Thom (Malenko @ 2gnt) up too. He lives 10 mintues down the road. I'd be glad to meet up ... :thumb:

Yea that is alot of oil in your bay BTW.

Later man.

This is looking exactly like when I blew my original motor right after bolting my first turbo on last summer...I'm really scared. I'm gonna be soooo pissed if somehow my built block got ####z0red. I was gettin ready to make a new thread with bunches of pics, new manifold, turbo, blah blah blah...and now this WTF My time up here in Alaska got pushed back about another week because I should have been gone as of yesterday, but oh well...I need to get this damn car running so I can ship it, and it's just problem after damn problem. I have lots of more pics from all the recent updates etc, just looking for where my dang camera and cell phone cables got packed away.

Wipe up all the oil the best you can and take it for a quick drive and pop the hood to see where it's coming from. Have you checked your oil lines to see if they are all very tight? I don't know how you got oil on top of your valve cover if it didn't spray from somewhere else. Any visable leaks when at idle?

My guess is the crank breather at the top of his valve cover spewed oil everywhere. Then the vibration from eveything just coated most things enough for full coverage..

That or the oil line would be my guess...

yeah...I've been too busy crying all day to mess with it

Puttin the dickies on now, and heading into the garage finally...hey, at least it's an invitation for a shiny engine bay

Is it me, or does that look like one SERIOUS rad. hose? Looks swelled.. Anyways, is that an oil catch can from your VC --> IM?

I would KILL to have a garage of my own.... damn parents cheaping out!

Power wash that bia.. Or, don't.. I'm not sure if your engine would like that.

Nothing wrong with the radiator hose as far as I know LOL...and yes, that's a catch can between the vc and pcv.

power wash the engine bay, clean the underside of the hood, Start the car, take it down the block hitting boost really quick, shut it off, and see where on the underside of the hood oil is coming from.

Breather is what I would expect too, but if that is hapening that means you've got oil coming up from your crank past your rings, which is a definate no no.

The breather isn't connected to the combustion chamber. So oil coming up wouldn't be the problem if in fact, it is coming from the breather. The PCV(Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system is a channel from the breather, down to the bottom of the motor up to the PCV valve back into the intake. It's purpose is to suck in air at the breather which will in turn, flow down and force any fumes/gasses which have seaped into the crankcase up into the intake to make it's way back through the motor and be burned off once and for all.

Just a simple test, pop your PCV valve off and make sure it isn't toast. Blow in it rather hard..

well, if he blew it up it could be blow by via rings or pistons causing crankcase pressure resulting in oil every where via breather.

A compression and leakdown test is really in order X.

Tests are no longer needed...my luck is so damn good, my phucking car blew up the day before I was supposed to ship it, aka yesterday. A hole right through the damn block, and I have no idea what the hell happened. Have I mentioned how much I love my life lately

well, time to ship the broken bi**h back to VA, and find a spare block, take your good parts, and put together somethign reliable (I know reliable dsm, oxy moron), Good luck X, just get outta Alaska!

I don't have money to ship a broken pile of junk...the military was sending it for free, but not anymore since it doesn't run. I don't even have time really to pull all the parts off, let alone anywhere to put them or room to fit them in my XTerra for the drive down, grrrr
