MM's are teh shiznit.

i keep telling my buddy to stop spending his money on his spyder, keep it where its at now(a quick car that looks very clean) and start modding his MM to be a full on "holy shit wtf is in that truck!" vehicle. and then take the little MM cruising and laugh at all the lifted "Smokers" in their F350's and Cummins who think theyre badass.

Hmm, thats not a bad idea LOL

Maybe i'll start with some light mods hehe after my gsx is complete

NOOOO...LOL my next project was gonna be a 4G63 Mighty Max street sleeper...oh well...hmm what else can I cram a 4G63 into...

you could, but would you want to?

there probably isn't enough room, and the 3.0tt engines are such a hassle

the only real hassle with the 3.0tt in a 3000gt is that its sitting the wrong way in the engine bay. the engine bay in my 3.0 MM is HUGE. im either thinking of 3.0tt setup or a modded ls1.

4G63T powered Mighty Max/D50 is a relatively easy conversion, but it all depends on how fast you want to go. Stock truck tranny is not really up to handling 2-3 times the torque.

And once you get into different tranny options, things get more complicated, it gets to a point where you may just as well start with any other vehicle that you like. So do not limit yourself to a MM/D50 just because it is a "bolt-in"...

If you guys want to talk about a 4G63 powered sleepers, you can't beat one of those:

http://www.edmunds.com/used/1992/mitsubishi/expo/2017/specs.html

AWD "Minivan", that is 100lbs lighter than an AWD 1G! In addition to Expo LRV, they were also sold as Eagle Summit Wagon and Cost Vista wagon.

My biggest problem with one of those is that finding one that isn't a rust bucket is vertually impossible around here :(.

There's a 7th gen Galant in the shop I go to that has had an all wheel drive conversion done to it, but not in the most typical of ways. They owner has actually welded the subframe of a 1g awd dsm into the car. It's kind of disgusting looking, but apparently, it works.

Hi all,

There is a 1990 Mighty Max in the local pull-a-part. Motor is in pretty nice condition. I want to get the crank out of it (only $25), but I am not sure it is a six bolt. There is so much conflicting info on stroker cranks on this forum. At this time, I have identified that the crank is definitely a 4g64 (got the oil pan off; crank has '64' cast on one of the counterweights). However, I am not positive it is a 6 bolt, as I have not gotten the trans off to look (the bolts are a pain in the ass to get at). Going with the assumption that all motors pre 04/92 are six bolt, I would assume this was as well. However, I have read on this forum that all 4g64's are seven bolt, and that only 4gcs are six bolt. Can someone clarify? And at some point, can we get a nice, detailed list of all the stroker cranks available in both bolt patterns, and what vehicles and years they are found in?

Thanks,

Hey everyone... I have just recently finished my talon tsi awd, and now I'm just starting on my 2nd and last project on my mitsubishi mighty max. Basically I was wondering if anyone knew how much power a mighty max transmission can handle (if it were stacked/ built to handle as much power as possible)?
I'm just trying to push 340ish crank power on the truck. It would be really convenient if the stock transmission could handle a lot of power if built, just because I'm keeping the block and destroking it and then slapping on a 2.0L 4g63 head. So basically I'll have a 2.2L turbo mighty max. Since I'm using the block from the mightymax I was just crossing my fingers I could still use the same transmission that comes with the car so everything bolts up perfectly.

Well, it's a truck transmission. What's the weight rating on the truck, ¼- or ½-ton? Can you shift it like you're awake and get the collars into place before giving it power? I'd expect those gearboxes could handle 400hp easily, particularly if the drive's under an empty pickup bed so the tires can break loose before too much torque is run through it. I'd bet they could withstand 600hp, so long as they're not power-shifted nor similarly abused.

Thats good to know that the truck transmission can take up to 400 or 600hp. When you give me these #'s do you mean a transmission that is built for performance or a stock transmission from the car where it could handle 400?

Well im doing the same project but using the 4g63t motor with older g63b engine's tranny,Direct bolt up. Come check out http://www.mightyd50.com/forum/
this one doesn't do so well the inputshaft bearing goes out easily. I guess you have a 4g64 and the stock tranny. I dont know how well it handels power. most use the conquest tranny. I would read up on this site first.

I might go front mount soon ( maybe begning of next yeat).....These pics are kinda old....I now have a evo III turbo installed...Next week having a 2.5 or 3in exhaust installed... by the way which mufflers sound best on dsms, I like the deep tones....took me 3 months to do the swap ( working 40-50 hours a week.)

Just think 2500lbs+4.11 gears+ 275hp(when i turn up the boost)=BEAST

"tommy like wingy":thumb:

Oh btw, Jayracing makes a front outlet spout to hook up to your radiator instead of that long tube...

Thanks for the prasie guys....maybe next year i will get the enginebay alittle cleaner, do some touch here and there.....I've got about 500 miles or so on the swap...and thats only because the timing belt broke then after that my stock 14b blew the oil seal...and in between all that i was in the process of buying a house, so i had to fix it when i had the time and money.....so far so good....So 3in magna flow muffler ok got it....more pics sure.....
