I have heared many times by many people to NOT change trans fluid after a certain amount of time cause it may wreck the trans. Is this true, im wraping up maintance and fluid changes but the trans fluid has not in almost 10 years (previous owner was my mom BF so i know what he did/ did not do) Should I be fine dumping all the fluid and refilling it, or should I do what I read somewere else and Drain a quart add a quart till it is all new again. I was also thinking of adding seafoam in there to, has anyone ever done that or used any other auto trans additves. Oh yea my trans is auto bty.

10 years!!! holy smokes!!! OMGDid these people that told you not to change your trans fluid also inform you to change your boost fluid, LOL change your fluid for the love of god and no sea foam. If your worried about getting it clean ruin some cheap fluid for about 20 mi then drain it and put in the good stuff.

Since your an auto I would sugggest changing trans fluid since it's ten years ole..Also the trans filter..The filter is only 25 bux..

I would change it..I have only changed mine once in 4 years..But I'm planning on changing it next spring...Filter and all...

Ok so how exactly would you change it, I have never done it before, would it be like an oil change?

Mine is a auto tranny but i suppose its the same?

I was also thinking of getting a Auto tranny fluid cooler

Your car should hqave a tranny oil cooler already..But you can get an upgraded one from summit or IPT I think..I have never seen the tranny overtemp light on ever....But that light is not too acurate from what I'm told..Just like how the stock boost gauge is crap..

Waiting for the tranny overtemp light is like waiting for the low oil light to come on your dash, you don't want to see it come on. An aftermarket tranny cooler is always a good idea. Extreme psi, STM, ITP, a lot of our supporting vendors offer them.

I have seen my tranny temp gauge come one 3 timesOMG, Everytime I pulled over and let my car sit. It only happned when my car was in limp mode and I had to mash the gas to get up steep hill and barly go no were, ever since I put in my shift box it has not happen, knock on wood, I was thinking of getting a trans temp gauge to when i get a pod.

If you don't have the lines from the radiator to the tranny cooler..Is that a pretty good assumption that the trans cooler has been upgraded..

I'm gonna look on ASA and see if I can pull the numbers off the stock trans cooler..To see if mine has been upgraded..

ASA says 25800 is the stock part number on the a/t oil cooler..I had to put that in writing so I remembered tomarrow..It also says that the trans cooler is supposed to be behind the radiator..Where mine is in front..
