well I just put 300 miles on my new car today to go to a meet in Des Moines iowa.

Oil pressure stayed right at the L on OIL but on the way home the Temp gauge rose a bit and started to fluxuate (never went above the Hot line) and that is bothersome. Made it home and could hear the water boiling under the rad cap. but the Upper rad hose didnt seem hotter than normal. any ideas? BTW I went 190 miles on the way there and only burned little over 7 gallons woot woot.

do you have a new radiator installed?

did you let your car run without the radiator cap to let all the air out? then turned it off and put more coolant in then started the car and did the same thing?

i learned from that mistake dam 240sx

I actually have one of these rad cap bucket deals that you fill up and run the car and it bleeds the air out. I still think that I have and air bubble but I will change the thermostat tomarrow.

kinda scary though I also think that im going to get a aftermarket temp gauge tomarrow also. there isnt more than 5k on the motor. and 65k on the body.

awsome, i have 1500 on new built motor and 175k on car. getting my car back on tuesday had everything done by dogboxracing awesome people to deal with. post up after you install the thermostat and run your car to see if all is good :thumb:

Its weird that this only happend 20 miles from home at night and chilly. didnt do it at all when it was warm and really pushing the car hard.

yea that is weird well change the thermostat, your temp gauge should be fine on the car as is and try doing that with the radiator i said before i had that problem with my 91 240sx and i blew the head gasket

That is pretty weird man, I would just check into your thermostat. You said you already flushed it so you can start narrowing it down.

There you go. Sounds like yours may be sticking. Replace the radiator cap, too. You don't need to burp a DSM cooling system.

cool both of my other 1gs oil pressure didnt work

Okay, It happend to be low on coolant from the Rad cap leaking. put a new cap on and filled her up and shes good as gold!! Now I just need to fix the idle surge, rear calipers, front struts, and get her tuned.
