Hey guys just got a sun pro temp gauge for free
Now deciding where to put it, My water temp is pretty accurate but was curious what's more important for warm up. Transmission Or motor oil temp. I know my gear oil doesn't heat up until I drive it but I'd hate to put more damage on the tranny from racing with it cold from being parked at mall or some thing Yet again same applies on my engine oil Thoughts? Answers? Questions much appreciated

First Off you should not try to race when the engine is cold let alone on the street but be safe, and to be honeSt on your car I would not worry about either but out them 2 then trans temp I would choose. You should worry more on oil pressure then oil temp.

i don't thin i have ever herd of someone watching there manual trans temp. if you car is running at running temp (warmed up) shouldn't need to worry about it. Is there even a place to put the censer on the trans? if you don't have one for the oil that's where i would put it. Water temp, oil temp and presser, boost, wide-band is all care about, but if you got the extra gauges laying around and don't mind having a gauge farm go for it. your car and being able to look at temp and pressers of everything isn't a bad thing.
A cool thing to see is the air temp going in to the intake manf.

I was assuming its an auto haha

I have a temp gauge for manual trans. However, I road race and will use this to help keep an eye on it and see if I need to consider an external cooler.

Between oil and trans temps on a car that just gets driven around (as opposed to sanctioned racing), neither are really useful as compared to other options you have. If you don't have to install it, maybe consider selling it and putting the money towards something more useful like a wideband setup or oil pressure gauge.
