Oil Squirters and Non turbo motor

I read here on a thread here that non turbo motors do not have oil squirters but do have the ports and that they are just plugged? Can anyone confirm this? I plan to rebuild a motor for my turbo Talon and use a non turbo block because of the less wear they have on them. I have 2 turbo blocks that I can use for all the turbo parts I need.

I'm pretty sure they all aren't drilled, at least the 3 NT block I've seen weren't just "blocked off"

So the 3 that you've seen didn't have anything there? That's gonna suck for me then. I can get a hold of many n/t blocks but turbo is kind of rare these days.

They have small flat spots where the oil squirter would go. They just need drilled then tapped. Any machine shop can do it for you. However if you are running aftermarket forged pistons the oil squirters are not fully necessary.

if you run after market piston, oil squirter aren't needed. and you'll have better oil pressure

Actually I'm just using new stock pistons. I don't really want to spend much money. I'm just building it to run stock and for learning purposes and I plan on using the Nippon stock pistons to try them out. I may not even keep the car after I rebuild the motor. I'll probably be needing the oil squirters then.

You shouldnt need them at all. I dont have them in my car and its fine.

Why don't you have them? Is your block stock?
